New Delhi: Pakistan, having suffered a defeat during the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, persists with its empty bluster. Despite knowing its own standing, it is making the mistake of underestimating India once again, an error that could lead to its ruin. On the occasion of Independence Day, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again adopted a hostile stance towards India.
Speaking at the ‘Yadgar-e-Fatah’ (Monument of Victory) event in Islamabad, Shehbaz Sharif issued a stern warning to India regarding the Indus Waters Treaty. He declared that every single drop of Pakistan’s water is a “red line.” He further warned that if India does not back down from its position, Pakistan would respond directly.

Pakistan Stands for Peace, Respect, and Dignity
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan stands for peace, respect, and dignity, but this should not be mistaken for weakness. He warned that if anyone challenges Pakistan’s sovereignty and security in the future, the response would be even more forceful than that of May 2025.
Following the conflict between India and Pakistan in May 2025, both nations had agreed to a ceasefire. Sharif credited US President Donald Trump for this ceasefire, claiming that Trump played a major role in brokering it at the right time.
Trump Played a Role in the Ceasefire – Shehbaz Sharif
Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz Sharif directly credited Donald Trump for the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He claimed that Trump played an effective and historic role in brokering the ceasefire, thereby saving countless lives. However, India has consistently rejected claims of American mediation regarding the ceasefire.

China Acknowledged as a Friend
Shehbaz Sharif described China as a friend that has stood by Pakistan like a rock during every difficult time. He stated that the friendship between Pakistan and China is higher than the Himalayas. He also reiterated details regarding the defence agreement with Saudi Arabia and Turkey’s inclusion in it. Sharif described this as a message of peace for the Muslim world and the entire region. While these statements from the Pakistani Prime Minister conveyed a message of peace, they also issued a stern warning to India.
India Strikes Back After Pahalgam Attack
It is worth noting that pro-Pakistan terrorists in the Pahalgam Valley of Kashmir had killed tourists after asking about their religion. Following this, the Indian Air Force conducted a surgical strike inside Pakistan, destroying numerous terrorist hideouts. Reports indicated that hundreds of terrorists were killed in the operation. The Indian Army carried out this action under the name ‘Operation Sindoor’.
