New Delhi: The ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP), which led a student movement at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, is currently in the spotlight. Questions have arisen because the CJP has so far maintained a distance from the ongoing student movement in Jharkhand. CJP founder Abhijit Deepke is also facing inquiries regarding this matter.
Abhijit Deepke has now made a significant statement regarding the student movement in Jharkhand. He expressed a desire for the entire movement to be spearheaded by Devendra Mahto, noting that Mahto has made immense sacrifices. He affirmed that the party would do whatever is necessary to strengthen the movement. When asked about visiting Ranchi, he stated that their team is already there and that they fully support the agitators in Jharkhand.
What did Abhijit Deepke say?
When asked when he would visit Ranchi, CJP founder Abhijit Deepke replied that their team is already present there. He identified Devendra Mahto as the leader of the movement, noting that Mahto has been on a continuous hunger strike for nine days. Deepke mentioned that their people are on the ground as well, adding that they do not want the focus to shift away from Devendra Mahto at this stage; they offer their full support.
He emphasised that the crucial aspect is whether or not they are standing by the agitators. Deepke further stated that he is in constant contact with the students in Jharkhand; when Devendra Mahto was marching to lay siege to the Legislative Assembly yesterday, the CJP team marched alongside him in solidarity. The CJP founder remarked that their role is to strengthen Mahto, not to go there and seek personal publicity.
We will stand by the protesting students.
While answering questions from the media in Sambhajinagar, Abhijit Deepke stated that it makes no difference to them which government is in power; whenever and wherever students launch a movement, they will stand by them fearlessly.
Salute to Devendra Mahto’s spirit.
CJP founder Abhijit Deepke expressed his support for Devendranath Mahto’s movement. In a social media post, he wrote, “Devendra-bhai, we salute your courage and spirit.” He further added that you are the voice and inspiration of the youth of Jharkhand. We stand firmly with you in this struggle. The country is in great need of courageous and resilient young people like you. We wish you a speedy recovery; the country needs you.
It is worth noting that a student protest has been ongoing in Ranchi for the past 18 days against alleged irregularities and paper leaks in the JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations in Jharkhand. Despite numerous efforts, no middle ground has been reached so far.
