While international crude oil prices are dropping, petrol and diesel prices in India remain stable. People are hoping that the fall in global crude oil prices will lead to some relief from Indian petroleum companies, but there are currently no signs of this happening. Nevertheless, if you are planning a trip during the monsoon season, you can check city-wise petrol and diesel prices before filling up your vehicle’s tank to clear up any confusion.

In the international market, Brent crude settled at $82.38 per barrel after falling 1.40% at the weekend close. In futures contracts, it is trading within the $81.50–$84.44 range. The US benchmark, West Texas Intermediate (WTI), also closed at $77.08 per barrel, recording a marginal decline of 0.27%.

In the national capital, New Delhi, the price of petrol stood at ₹102.12 per litre, while diesel was priced at ₹95.20 per litre. In the financial capital, Mumbai, petrol was priced at ₹111.18 per litre, and diesel at ₹97.83 per litre. In Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, the rate for petrol was ₹113.47 per litre, while diesel was recorded at ₹99.82 per litre.
In Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, petrol is trading at ₹107.77 per litre and diesel at ₹99.55 per litre. In Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, the price of petrol stands at ₹110.93 per litre and diesel at ₹98.80 per litre. In Hyderabad, the price of petrol is ₹115.69 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹103.82 per litre.
In Amritsar, the price of petrol is ₹106.36 per litre, and the price of diesel has been recorded at ₹96.22 per litre. In Fatehabad, the price of petrol is recorded at ₹104.51 per litre, and the price of diesel is recorded at ₹97.20 per litre.
Cities with the Cheapest and Most Expensive Petrol and Diesel
According to available information, petrol and diesel are cheapest in Port Blair. Here, the price of petrol is recorded at ₹88.66 per litre and diesel at ₹78.05 per litre; these are the lowest rates in the country. Conversely, prices are highest in Andhra Pradesh, where petrol is priced at ₹117.88 per litre and diesel at ₹103.95 per litre. Petrol and diesel prices are released daily at 6 AM. Petroleum companies revise and release prices on Saturdays and Sundays as well.
