Rules change every month, and this August has brought changes to financial regulations as well. These are all changes that will directly impact your pocket. From LPG to ticket booking, rules have changed across the board starting August 1st. So, if you want to know exactly what has changed, let us explain the details.
First Rule Change From 1 August
The first change effective from August 1st concerns LPG prices. As happens every month, there is a significant shift in LPG rates this month too. Starting today, the price of commercial cylinders has been reduced by ₹202. In Delhi, the price of an LPG cylinder has been set at ₹2,728, while in Kolkata, it has become ₹2,872.50. However, there have been no changes to domestic (kitchen) cylinders so far.
Second Rule Change From 1 August
There are major changes regarding the railways. New rules for Indian Railways—specifically concerning Tatkal tickets—have come into effect on August 1st. From this date, the token issuance and the booking process for Tatkal tickets will happen simultaneously; customers will first be issued a token, and the ticket will then be issued based on that token.
Third Rule Change From 1 August
There are changes related to banking as well. Starting August 1st, several banks have increased their service charges. Additionally, some banks may raise SMS charges for users. If your bank has implemented such changes, you can get the details by contacting them directly.
Fourth Rule Change From August
August has arrived, and it is anticipated that the prices of various items could rise during this month. It is believed that these price hikes could have a direct impact on your finances and day to day life. It is reported that prices for various items—including clothing, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and other electronics—are set to rise.

There will also be changes to ITR (Income Tax Return) rules. The deadline for filing ITR-1 and ITR-2 had been extended to August 31; from August onwards, filing a ‘belated ITR’ will attract a penalty.
