In the national capital, Delhi, the price of a domestic cylinder is recorded at ₹942.0, while the commercial cylinder is priced at ₹3,113.5. In Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, the domestic LPG cylinder costs ₹941.5, and the commercial cylinder is trending at ₹3,067.5. In Kolkata, West Bengal, the domestic cylinder is priced at ₹968.0, while the commercial cylinder stands at ₹3,256.0.
In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the domestic gas cylinder is priced at ₹957.5, with the commercial cylinder rate trending at ₹3,283.0. In Bengaluru, the domestic LPG cylinder is priced at ₹944.5, and the commercial cylinder is trending at ₹3,198.0.
In Amritsar, the domestic LPG cylinder is priced at ₹983.0, while the commercial cylinder stands at ₹3,220.0. In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the domestic LPG cylinder is priced at ₹979.5, and the commercial cylinder rate is ₹3,236.0. In Ghaziabad, near Delhi, commercial cylinders are available at ₹939.50, with prices reaching up to ₹3,113.50. In Patna, the capital of Bihar, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder is ₹1,031.50, while commercial cylinders are priced at up to ₹3,400.50.
Disruption in Gas Transportation
It is worth noting that the route through the Strait of Hormuz has been disrupted due to the conflict between Iran and the US that began earlier this year. This has led to a severe shortage of LPG across the country. Consequently, India has decided to diversify its sources of LPG.
India is the world’s third-largest oil importer and consumer. Furthermore, a significant portion, approximately 90per cent,t of India’s LPG imports (totalling 21.85 million metric tonnes) has historically been sourced from the Middle East. According to government data, imports accounted for nearly 66 per cent of the country’s total LPG consumption.
When prices might change
Indian petroleum companies revise LPG cylinder prices on the 1st of every month. With August 1st fast approaching, LPG cylinder prices are set to be revised on this date. There is an expectation that a reduction in LPG cylinder prices might be seen.
