New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had to resign following the youth protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital, Delhi. This resignation is also being viewed as a strategic move by the BJP. Opposition political parties attribute it to pressure from the protesting students. Meanwhile, CM Yogi Adityanath has surprised everyone with a significant statement.
He stated unequivocally that foreign forces, resentful of India’s progress and development, are conspiring to sow discord and disorder in society by misusing cutting-edge technology and foreign funds to spread rumours. Although he did not explicitly name the event, observers interpret this statement as an allusion to the protest at Jantar Mantar. Yogi Adityanath urged teachers to protect students from rumours circulating on social media.
Yogi Adityanath’s significant remarks regarding the youth
Speaking at a ceremony aDr. B.R. Ambedkar University in Agra, CM Yogi Adityanath remarked that foreign forces irked by India’s progress are conspiring to incite animosity and chaos by exploiting modern technology and foreign funding to spread rumours. Expressing concern over the youth being misled in the current political climate, the CM noted that approximately 60 per cent of young people today perceive the world through smartphones and YouTube.
He further observed that young people often accept unverified content served on social media and anonymous platforms as the truth, leading to societal chaos. Yogi appealed to teachers to help students distinguish between truth and falsehood. Since not all content available on Google is authentic, he emphasised that it is the teachers’ responsibility to steer the youth back toward libraries and reference books.
CM Yogi emphasises the positive use of technology
CM Yogi Adityanath stressed the importance of using technology positively to guard against the dangers of misleading information on social media. He acknowledged that AI and social media are necessities of the modern era and cannot be ignored. He also directed universities to implement dual-degree programs and new curricula in accordance with the National Education Policy.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that in the Indian tradition, the role of the Guru is that of a facilitator who brings out the latent potential within students. The CM noted that whenever India moves towards its golden age, foreign invasions intensify. In this context, our universities should not merely be centres for awarding degrees; instead, they must become strong bastions of innovation, research, and patriotism capable of guiding a misguided society in a positive direction.
