Petrol-Diesel Price

New Delhi: If you drive a vehicle, this news might bring you some relief. While escalating conflicts in the Middle East are driving up crude oil prices in the global market, Indian petroleum companies have kept petrol and diesel prices stable.

Early Saturday morning, petrol and diesel prices in India remained unchanged, offering consumers some respite. If you are planning a trip by car or any other vehicle, you might want to check the current fuel prices first. Below, we provide city-wise details on petrol and diesel prices to clear up any confusion.

Check Petrol and Diesel Prices in Major Cities

In the national capital, New Delhi, the price of petrol is recorded at ₹102.12 per litre, while diesel is trending at ₹95.20 per litre. In Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, the petrol rate is ₹111.21 per litre, and diesel is trending at ₹97.83 per litre.

In Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, petrol is priced at ₹113.51 per litre, while diesel is selling at ₹99.82 per litre. In Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, the petrol price is recorded at ₹110.93 per litre, with diesel trending at ₹98.80 per litre.

In Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, prices are recorded at ₹107.77 per litre for petrol and ₹99.55 per litre for diesel. In Patna, the capital of Bihar, the petrol price is ₹113.35 per litre, and the diesel rate is ₹99.36 per litre.

In Chandigarh, the petrol rate is ₹101.51 per litre, while diesel is recorded at ₹89.47 per litre. In Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, the price of petrol is hovering at ₹115.69 per litre, while the price of diesel is trending at ₹103.82 per litre.

Why haven’t prices changed?

Petrol and diesel prices in the Indian market depend on various factors. These include global crude oil prices, the rupee’s exchange rate against the dollar, freight costs, and taxes levied by both central and state governments. While there may have been some volatility in global crude oil prices recently, oil companies have not made any changes to retail prices for the time being.

When are prices released daily?

For reference, Indian petroleum companies release petrol and diesel rates daily at 6:00 AM. If there is any change in prices, the new rates come into effect from that same time on the same day.

A few days ago, when crude oil prices skyrocketed, Indian petroleum companies took a major decision and implemented a massive hike in petrol and diesel prices. This had a significant impact on the pockets of ordinary citizens.
