The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has added several new features to its Aadhaar mobile app. With this, you can submit a request to update your mobile number or email ID from the comfort of your home.
The app’s interface has also been improved following recent updates. However, since the location of some features has changed, many users are finding it difficult to locate them. Therefore, we will explain the easy process for updating your mobile number and email address in detail.
Update your email address for free.
According to UIDAI, there is a method to update your mobile number and email address on your Aadhaar card completely free of charge. The process for updating the mobile number within the app remains the same as before; this option is available in the ‘Services’ section.
A facility to add and update email addresses within the app has also been introduced. This feature is available for both Android and iPhone users. You can update your email address without any additional charges for the next six months. The process for updating the email address is quite simple.
Here is how to update your email address
First, open the Aadhaar mobile app on your phone.
Then, navigate to the ‘Services’ section visible at the bottom.
Next, select the option to update your email address.
Click on ‘Continue to update email address’.
Finally, enter your email address and verify it.
How to update your mobile number on your Aadhaar card
To update your mobile number, open the Aadhaar mobile app.
Go to the ‘Services’ tab in the app.
Select the ‘Mobile Number Update’ option. After this, you can tap on ‘Continue to Update Mobile Number’.
Next, you will need to enter the new mobile number and complete the verification process using an OTP.
Then, you will have to follow the authentication steps displayed on the screen.
Once the request is submitted, it will be forwarded to UIDAI.
