New Delhi: Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled for early 2027, and political parties have already begun mobilising their full strength. The BJP, having held power for nine years, is eager to secure a hat-trick of victories. Meanwhile, the opposition has also commenced preparations for the assembly polls.

BJP leader Nitin Naveen visited Uttar Pradesh to foster coordination between the government and the party organisation. Through this visit, UP BJP leaders conveyed a message of unity.

On Sunday, BJP leader Nitin Naveen, accompanied by CM Yogi Adityanath, visited the Lucknow residence of Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. They met with Maurya, with other senior BJP leaders also present during the visit.

Leaders Visit Keshav Prasad Maurya’s Residence

Nitin Naveen, who was visiting UP, arrived at Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya’s home alongside BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh and CM Yogi Adityanath. UP BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak were also present. This meeting of senior BJP figures is considered highly significant in the context of the upcoming assembly elections.

With this meeting, the BJP also sought to sound the bugle for the assembly elections. Notably, a similar visit had taken place on June 22, 2022, before the 2022 assembly elections, when BL Santosh and CM Yogi Adityanath visited Keshav Prasad Maurya’s residence.

The current meeting is being viewed in the same context. Rumours of friction between Keshav Prasad Maurya and Yogi Adityanath surface from time to time; however, officially, both leaders have refrained from criticising each other.

BJP Sends Message of Unity Ahead of Elections

By demonstrating unity ahead of the UP assembly elections, BJP leaders have thwarted the opposition’s hopes of exploiting internal rifts. On this occasion, BL Santosh, Nitin Naveen, and CM Yogi Adityanath also visited the residence of Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak. According to political observers, the BJP left no stone unturned in conveying a message of unity ahead of the UP Assembly elections. During this period, Nitin Nabin dealt a major blow to the opposition’s plans by declaring that this is the era of Modi and Yogi.

BJP gearing up for 2027

The BJP suffered a major setback in Uttar Pradesh during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with its seat tally shrinking to just 33. The Samajwadi Party performed impressively, winning 37 seats and emerging as the single largest party in the state. Since then, the BJP has intensified its focus on Uttar Pradesh. The party is determined to avoid any errors in the upcoming Assembly elections and is striving to form the government at all costs. Following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has secured victories in several states, including Delhi, Haryana, and Maharashtra.
