Gas Cylinder Price

LPG Price Cut: Gas cylinder customers have received significant relief on the first day of July. Indian petroleum companies have reduced LPG cylinder prices. The price of gas cylinders has dropped by ₹183, a move seen as providing substantial financial relief. This reduction applies to commercial cylinders.

Previously, commercial cylinder prices had risen over the last few months, a trend attributed to tensions in the Middle East. There has been no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders. If purchasing a commercial cylinder in Delhi, one will now pay ₹183 less.

Revision on the First of Every Month

Indian petroleum companies revise gas cylinder prices on the first day of every month. July brought relief to the public right from day one. Over the past few months, bombings in the Middle East have led to a decline in crude oil and gas imports, causing cylinder prices to skyrocket.

Rates for commercial cylinders have dropped significantly in cities across the country, including the national capital, Delhi. In January, the price of a commercial cylinder stood at ₹1,691. Subsequently, a trend of continuous price hikes followed. May saw a record-breaking increase of ₹993, pushing commercial cylinder prices above ₹3,000.

How Expensive Were Cylinders in June?

The trend of rising commercial cylinder prices continued into early June. At that time, prices were hiked by ₹42, with the cost of a commercial cylinder in Delhi reaching ₹3,113.50. Overall, the rising cost of commercial cylinders was impacting the pockets of the common man by fueling inflation.

Cylinder Prices in These Cities

Following the reduction in commercial cylinder prices, the new rates have come into effect immediately across all cities. In Kolkata, the price of a commercial cylinder has dropped from ₹3,255.50 to ₹3,081.50. In Lucknow, the price of a commercial cylinder has settled at ₹3,052.50. In Patna, the new price for a cylinder is trending at ₹3,227.
These new cylinder prices have come into effect from July 1st.

Domestic cylinder prices remain unchanged

While an increase was recorded in the price of commercial cylinders, the rates for domestic cylinders remained stable. Indian petroleum companies did not make any changes to domestic cylinder prices. Although customers had hoped for some price relief this month, that did not happen.

Domestic cylinder prices

In Delhi, the cost of an LPG cylinder is ₹942. In Kolkata, it can be purchased for ₹968. In Mumbai, the 14 kg cylinder is priced at ₹941.50, while in Chennai, it is priced at ₹957.50.
