Anxiety problem : Nowadays, people’s lifestyles have completely changed, and in this fast-paced life, often due to work pressure outside the home and responsibilities inside, people become anxious. Sometimes this is normal, but if you start worrying and getting scared even over small things, and you start feeling restless and nervous, then it can be a cause of concern for you, and over time it takes the form of an ‘anxiety disorder’.

Anxiety problem is a natural process of the body which arises in response to impending danger or stress, but sometimes even small things like the phone ringing suddenly, pressure of some small work in the office, meeting with the boss, going to meet a client, if you start feeling pressure even on these small things, then it can be difficult for you and this is called anxiety.

Causes of Anxiety Problem

1. Anxiety can occur due to excessive mental stress, including work pressure at the office, family problems, worries about studies and results. When your mind becomes stressed thinking about all these things, you start overreacting to every little thing.

2. When your brain chemistry changes, the balance of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine in the brain starts to deteriorate. These work to control your mood, and when these changes occur, anxiety occurs.

3. Sometimes it is also genetic; if someone in your family has already had problems with anxiety or depression, then you may also suffer from it.

4. Sometimes people start living with anxiety due to their childhood experiences or trauma.

5. Lack of sleep and poor lifestyle habits, such as staying up late at night and excessive consumption of tea and coffee, also cause anxiety.

Symptoms of Anxiety

Anxiety Problem can be of two types – mental and physical.

Mental symptoms – Whenever you start getting scared even on small things and the fear of something untoward happening starts haunting you all the time and you are unable to sleep at night and feel irritable and are unable to concentrate on any work and are always worried about your future and bring negative thoughts in your mind, all these are its mental symptoms.

Physical symptoms – Whenever you feel uneasy about something and your heart beats fast and your hands and legs start trembling and you start sweating coldly, you feel shortness of breath and tightness in the chest and you feel symptoms like upset stomach, gas formation and nausea.

How to avoid Anxiety Problem

Deep Breathing – Whenever you feel anxious, close your eyes and take deep breaths and use the 4-7-8 technique, breathe through the nose for 4 seconds and after that hold your breath for 7 seconds and start exhaling slowly through the mouth for 8 seconds, this calms your nervous system and gives instant relief from anxiety.

Do yoga and exercise – Yoga and exercise are very important to get relief from anxiety, you should meditate for 15 to 20 minutes daily and walk for 30 minutes.

Good sleep – Sleeping is very important to get rid of anxiety, you should take 7 to 8 hours of deep sleep daily, it keeps your nervous system calm.

Stay away from caffeine and social media – To get rid of anxiety, reduce the consumption of caffeine-containing substances like tea, coffee and energy drinks contain high amount of caffeine and it increases the heartbeat. Apart from this, keep distance from social media and if possible, stop using social media before sleeping at night, so that your mind remains calm.
