Reports indicate that at least 17 metro stations in Delhi will remain closed today. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that these 17 stations will stay shut on Friday. This order came into effect this morning and will remain in force until further notice; effectively, metro operations in Delhi have been completely suspended for the time being. This measure has been taken in view of security concerns regarding the protest at Jantar Mantar, leading to the closure of several stations. The protest is also affecting major roads in Delhi, causing traffic disruptions. The DMRC stated that certain stations have been closed starting today and will remain so until further orders are issued; however, interchange facilities are still being provided.
