Odisha’s CM launched BharatNetra, a fintech and insurtech education initiative, in partnership with NUS and GFTN.

The Integrated Global Financial Technology Capability Hub will offer a five-month hybrid Certificate in Fintech & Insurtech (CFI).

The first cohort sees 375 seats available in September, with over 2,000 applications already received.

The program aligns with Odisha’s 2036 vision to become a $500-billion economy with higher per capita income.

Aiming to train 7,000 students over the next five years, the initiative includes a Global Capability Centre.

It also supports fintech/insurtech startup growth and collaboration.

This could attract foreign capital and enhance regional tech skills.

The move is central to India’s push for regional technology hubs.

Entrepreneurs and educators are likely to watch the first results closely.

A potential blueprint for similar state-level initiatives.
